The 500F2 was named after the legendary driver Alberto Ascari. Ascari won the Formula 1 for Ferrari in 1952 and 1953. He reached honorary places in Argentina, the Netherlands, Belgium, England, and Switzerland. Albert Ascari was a professional driver between 1950 and 1955.
